Susan Edwards

Painter
Susan is a contemporary colourist painter working intuitively, often in front of the subject, building up paintings with layers of different kinds of vigorous mark making, using brushes, palette knives and textures.
Her favourite locations for landscapes include the Cornish Coast, the Yorkshire Dales, The Malvern Hills, Snowdonia and Venice. Susan has travelled the world for two decades as Artist in Residence on cruise ships, popping ashore to paint in some fabulous locations, which continue to inspire her.
Susan also loves painting theatre and dance subjects, and nothing brightens her day more than painting some fragrant flowers.
With encouragement from her mentor Tony Eyton RA, Susan has recently been creating more semi abstract work evolving in the studio from paintings done en plein air, and from photographs.
Susan has exhibited with the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, The New English Art Club and Women in Art at The Mall Galleries London in recent years and her paintings and portraits are in International private collections.
