Maxine Overbury

My art is autobiographical. In each piece I would be portraying my inner self, it may be linked to my mother, who has a strong presence in my life but who has not been present in my life since I was a child.
My work is mostly based on the feminine but I would not want to be viewed as a feminist, I believe that equality plays out and exists in all aspects of society, its just not always obvious. I use acrylic on canvas with flat detail and my technique can vary depending how I want to use the paint.
