Joanne Callaghan

Painter

Joanne creates colourful, surreal, expressionist style pieces to show the inner workings of her over active imagination. Some are representations of what is happening to, or around Joanne and although not initially apparent are of a highly personal nature. Others are just expressions of the characters she see which others don’t. Being both physically and visually impaired does make you see things differently but even before this Joanne was always told she had very Strange Ways, especially in her writing.
Now living and working out of her studio in Tibberton, Gloucester, Joanne is further inspired by her surroundings. She exhibits open studios and offers an array of workshops, such as mixed media, acrylics, printing, batik and many more.
Joanne is the chair of the Disability Arts Alliance and board trustee and secretary of Art Shape.
