Bill Orton

Bill Orton was born in Birmingham in 1944, educated at Central Grammar School, Birmingham and then Bath Academy of Art, in Corsham where he specialised in fine art (tutor was Howard Hodgkin) and ceramics (tutor James Tower and John Colbeck).

Bill taught at various schools within Birmingham before going to Munster, Germany to teach Forces children returning to Birmingham in the early 1980s. His art practice began with printing blocks (string on card) and slowly developed into the current realistic renderings of "Fur and Feather". Bill has been featured on Blue Peter and has also had a picture accepted by our late Queen - a Corgi of course.
